Our lives are full of challenges, decisions, things we want to change. We can struggle within our relationships and within ourselves as we go through our journey here. Loving support can make all that feel a lot easier.

BUTTERFLY SESSIONS are the name of my personal and confidential sessions where we discuss whatever is on your mind that needs to be expressed. Our lives are busy and so often we are caring for others. Butterfly Sessions allow you to have an hour where the attention is on you. It's all about what is important to you. To feel heard. This alone, can feel like a luxurious gift! Having a confidant can be very relieving; someone objective and non-judgmental, outside your usual relationships, who you can be safe to share your feelings with. Naturally, the goal of these sessions is to provide caring support and strength with whatever you are dealing with and help you to find your solutions that are right for you.

I am not a professional counselor, and this is not professional counseling. If you are in need of that level of support, I recommend that you find a gifted counselor who can assist you. This is an alternative kind of support that in no way is a replacement for traditional counseling.

What I do offer is empathetic listening, a safe space and a caring heart. Intuitive guidance will be shared with you, and our sessions can incorporate any of my other gifts, for example: Tarot Readings, Dream Interpretation, Reiki. My goal is to listen and to offer you the validation, emotional support and intuitive guidance to help you on your journey. My desire is for you to find your own empowerment and to offer you tools to connect with your authentic self. Personal transformation is connecting with your inner power and truth.

REIKI, TAROT, HOUSE CLEARING

In a world of growing stressors we often find ourselves looking for alternative methods of coping and seeking guidance or direction from a more spiritual perspective. I have recently had the opportunity to experience a few of these "outside the box" methods.

Reiki was first introduced to me in a time when I was in need of internal healing and peace. This non contact method of deep meditation is created through the energy of the human spirit. I was able to think of nothing and everything all at the same time. Mixed with my tears and clarity came a vision that I still generate back to today. It allowed me to set free many of the demons that were plaguing me and left me with a feeling of lightness and complete rejuvenation. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is seeking a level of comfort and peace in their life that they are having difficulty achieving. Melanie carries this out in a calm environment and allows ones spirit to take the direction it desires. She is truly gifted at her craft.

On several other occasions I have turned to Melanie for her skills in Tarot card reading. When faced with a dilemma or to simply hear a point of view that may differ from your own, this is an effective way to gain clarity into the questions that face you.

Melanie recently performed a home cleansing on a new property I moved into. The house had felt uncomfortable feel to it and I was having a hard time settling in to my new surroundings. After the cleansing I felt a more serene connection to my home. My daughter and I have both experienced a more relaxed and happy home now.

Boudoir Beauties is the name I have given to the intimate photo sessions I offer. I believe every woman is beautiful and sexy. And through these photographs I take, the women themselves get to see the Gorgeous Goddess that they are.

These are a wonderful gift for oneself or a partner. As a trained masseuse and an art student who has spent many hours drawing and painting from nude models, I am completely comfortable with the human body. When I was younger, I would spend hours pouring over pictures of Marilyn Monroe, and I think that is the best way to describe the vibe of my pictures. Classy, tasteful, sexy, beautiful. I aim to capture what is captivating in my model and reveal her true beauty. Pictures are your choice: dressed, or in lingerie, or nude. You will receive 10 edited photos as the finished product.

I have observed that it is a very empowering experience for my models. They feel beautiful, sexy and bold in having such an experience. They are given a permanent keepsake that shows them how beautiful they really are.

I love photographs! They capture a moment in time that can bring back all the memories from the moment it was taken. They show us who we’ve been and really are snapshots of the story of our lives. They connect us to our loved ones and can conjure all the feelings of love we hold for those dearest to us. They are imbued with the energy of the moment, and tell a greater story than just the visual image itself.

Photos are a manner of self expression; a modern form of portraiture. There are always those special ones we like best. Not only because we like how we look in them, but that the photograph has captured some essence of who we are as well.

Personal photographs are a significant part of our lives. We display them in frames in our homes, we share them in albums with our friends on Facebook. We use them in our profile pictures on social networks or dating sites. I think that now, more than any other time in history, we share our personal photos with others more than ever before.

Photo editing is a lovely way to make your photos magic. So many times I have had a picture that I liked except for… (fill in the blank). With photo editing poor lighting can be remedied, photo quality enhanced. Things in the background can be cropped out, or drawn over. Unflattering aspects we can be critical of can be removed. I have some lovely pictures of my son when he had the chickenpox, but was able to remove the pox from the pictures, so he looks like his beautiful self.

It is nice to have pictures to proudly display in a frame. I never had a photo of my son and I together whilst he was an infant that seemed frame worthy. The nicest one had another person sitting on a picnic table beside us at a park. Too close to crop out. Thanks to photo editing, I was able to draw the other person out and have the personal portrait keepsake I’d always wanted.

Some pictures we really like of ourselves, but want to put away because our ‘ex’ is in them. Now we can transform such pictures into the self portraits we want them to be.

TAROT READING

I have read Tarot for sixteen years. And over the years, I have noted how many people have differing reactions to this subject. Some are frightened, others disapproving, some see it as nonsense, others playful fun and curiosity. And then there are some, like me, who feel the latter, along with a reverence and respect.

Tarot is many things for many people. For me, personally, it is one of many methods of communicating with the Higher forces, Spirit, the Universe, or whatever religious name you go by. It is an intuitive tool. Tarot is fun and an area of curiosity. But it is also serious business, in terms of us taking our lives and choices very seriously.

This is how I see Divination...

The future is not written in stone. The future is created by the choices we make today. Therefore, Divination Arts give us a view on future possibilities, based on our present course of action. This information can assist us in our choices. Your future is always up to you.

So, whether for fun or because you have a concern, Tarot readings give us a new perspective on our lives that we may not see when we are so involved with the situation ourselves. Call it an objective view of the circumstances. If I get a reading I don’t much like, I recognize that is based on my current direction, or behaviour, or outlook. So I ask as my next question, “What should I do differently to attain my desired results?” And examine the advice that spread shows. Simple as that! No such thing as a bad reading in my world. There are always choices. Tarot just gives a glimpse at the unfolding of our stories. And we have freewill all the way!

I offer Tarot reading in person, by phone, or over Skype. You may wonder how over the phone can work as effectively. I learned this once during an over the phone reading. I had the same card jump out of the deck three different times whist shuffling. By the third time it was clear that card was the message meant to be received! This confirmed for me that there is no such thing as picking the wrong cards, and that another person can select the cards on another’s behalf.

Where applicable, I will send either a link or names of the cards that you can look them up on ‘Google image’ to see the imagery yourself. Naturally, over Skype, I will show you your cards with the webcam.

DREAM INTERPRETATION

Dreams provide an important function in our lives. Dreams are, in essence, messages. They are a form of communication on a feeling level. They are how we communicate with ourselves about our thoughts and feelings on what is going on in our lives. Carl Jung saw dreams as the doorway to the unconscious. They connect us to the deepest parts of ourselves. They help us sort our feelings, learn new things and prepare for the future through the challenges we face. Every dream has a meaning and is a gift, even if we don’t at first recognize it.

There are many different kinds of dreams.

Dreams where we sort out our feelings and events from our day. These dreams help us to process our feelings. We often define dreams from this method. We think, “I only dreamt of Australia because of that show on TV last night.” But there was a reason you chose the symbol ‘Australia’ over other experiences that day. By looking deeper into these dreams, we can find out much more about how we feel about our current situation and gain insights into ourselves and our lives.
Guidance Dreams. Dreams can show us an answer or solution to a problem in our waking life. This can range from inventing things, to helping us make a decision that is confronting us. We may dream about a home we are considering living in, or jobs we are choosing between. Oftentimes these dreams attune us to our deeper and more intuitive feelings concerning our prospective choices.
Intuitive Dreams. Precognitive, Warning, Psychic Work

Precognitive—dreams that show us something before it happens, like a premonition.

Warning—dreams that warn us about a person, situation, or the outcome of a choice.

Psychic Work—dreams are a vehicle where our psychic senses are heightened. We are more receptive in our dream state. We may communicate with our Guardian Angels, or Spirit Guides, receive healing, resolve karma with people in our lives, have a spiritual experience, or visit with loved ones who have passed on. It is my personal belief that dreams of loved ones, whether people or pets who have passed away, are connections with them. We are open and receptive during our dreamtime and this creates an opportunity for them to connect with us. We would think we were crazy, or be frightened if they did so during our waking life. I believe our loved ones never truly leave us. These dreams usually feel loving and touching.

Recurring Dreams—dreams that we have over and over again. Sometimes this is within a short period of time. Sometimes they span randomly over many years. There can be slight differences in the dreams, but generally, the events of the dream are the same. It is important to note the variations that occur, as they can indicate what is changing in the dream story and ourselves. These dreams are trying to get our attention through repetition. They indicate something that needs attention, something we haven’t realized or dealt with. The time when this kind of dream began gives a clue towards its meaning and relevance. Usually, once recurring dreams are understood and dealt with, they stop.
Nightmares—these get our attention. That is the point. This is why they often wake us up. They have important messages for us and their scariness helps us to remember them and think about them. Often they can reveal hurts, wounds, attitudes and fears that are blocking us. At times, nightmares can be warnings, but not in general. Many times their meanings are not nearly as bad as we would imagine, it was all so we wouldn’t miss their message.
Lucid Dreaming—dreams when we realize we are dreaming and recognize that we can do whatever we want. In these dreams we actively create our dream experience.

Dream Recall…

Many people find they remember their dreams occasionally, but not necessarily often. To help you remember your dreams, here are a few tips:

-before going to sleep, tell yourself, “I remember my dreams easily.” This may take a few times before success, but it does work.

-when you wake up, pause and ask yourself, “Now where was I a moment ago?”

-if you are having difficulty, NEVER say, “I can’t remember my dream.” Instead, say, “I am beginning to remember my dream.”

-keep a journal or piece of paper by your bed and write your dreams down, or whatever you remember.

Dreams are like onions, with many possible layers of meanings. Don’t assume there is only one correct interpretation for a dream. What makes sense upon refection is a good indicator you are getting the message. Keeping an open mind is key. All those symbols, weird as they may seem, make sense to you deep in your mind. Usually the biggest block to understanding our dreams is our emotional involvement. Dreams that bring up strong feelings can freak us out and make us afraid to know their meaning. That is why it can be easier to analyze someone else’s dream. You aren’t emotionally involved.

Astrology. Hogwash, coddswallup, horsefeathers! Many people see it as utter nonsense, superstition, or just plain flakey. However…one conversation with me has always convinced the nay-sayers to admit there is something to it.

Horoscopes, are not my thing. The only ones I follow with gusto are Rob Brezsny’s at www.freewillastrology.com. So why then am I so interested in astrology, if I don’t even do horoscopes? Because the personality descriptions offered by astrology can give us keen insight into ourselves and our loved ones. As an Aquarius, figuring out what makes people tick is a hobby, and astrology allows me to do just that, even when there is nobody around to figure out! I can study the signs!

Now, nothing is ever set in stone. Ever. Period. About anything! Astrology allows us a method of viewing natural tendencies. Predispositions, if you will. Of course people can change, evolve and grow. Astrology simply shows the starting off point.

And I have been told by many that although astrology may apply to some, the descriptions don’t fit them. Most people are familiar with Sun Sign Astrology. That’s your horoscope in the newspaper and the answer to the line, “Hey Baby, what’s your sign?” Astrology is far more complex than that. What they are talking about is the sign the sun was in when you were born. But in astrology, all the other planets were also in different signs when you were born. All those planets mean different things. And chances are, if your Sun Sign description doesn’t match you, you have some other strong influences in other planets that contribute conflicting characteristics. That’s why you aren’t a typical Leo, or Aries type.

The birth chart is a map that shows what sign all the planets were in at the time of your birth. This requires birth date, time and location. Then you can even know your Rising Sign. The Rising Sign is the sign that was on the Eastern Horizon at the moment of your birth. It shows more the image you present to the world. How you seem when you meet people. The first impression. That’s another reason why it can sometimes be difficult to guess someone’s sign—it may be the Rising sign you pick up on.

So what is the value of astrology? To understand yourself better. To understand others better. Understanding someone astrologically will help you to be aware of people’s tendencies. You will know why your Gemini friend is forever late, how to clam down an angry Leo and why it is an atrocity to read a Scorpio child’s personal writing without first having permission.

Understanding your child, partner, parent, or friends through astrology will create acceptance and compassion. When you can see the world through their eyes, you can work with them more harmoniously and be sensitive to what really matters to them. You can grasp their needs, comprehend their fears. I value astrology for how it enables us to infuse our relationships with acceptance, enhance communication and create greater harmony with those we love most.

Reiki is a form of “hands-on” healing that encompasses mind, body and spirit. In Reiki, the practitioner acts as a vessel through which Universal Life Force Energy is being channelled and directed to the receiver, for the purpose of healing.

Reiki is actually made up of two Japanese words “Rei” and “Ki”.

REI - has been defined as Universal. It is considered the Higher Self, the Divine, or Cosmic Consciousness. It knows who we are, our life journey and its lessons, challenges and triumphs.

KI – (or Ch’i in Chinese) is defined as energy. It is the energy of creation and all life. It is part of us, it surrounds us and it sustains us. It is vital breath, the breath of Life, vital energy.

As science has been discovering, we are at our core, as is everything else, made up of energy. Reiki, being the drawing of and directing of Universal Life Force Energy, is a very powerful healing system. Once directed to the recipient, this energy then knows where to go and where it is needed. Definitions can seldom capture the subtleties and nuances of something so esoteric. Reiki really must be experienced to begin to be understood.

Reiki can be described as a Japanese technique to promote stress-reduction, relaxation and healing.

Many people have described the sensation of Reiki as feeling warmth or heat. Some experience a tingling sensation. Those who are very aware of their bodies can often describe where they feel the energy moving in their bodies.

Reiki Master, Andrzej Jaronski wrote, “Reiki has an intelligence all its own. It comes from an intent to heal, and the people come from an intent to be healed. Being the source of life itself, Reiki recognizes the basic truth that each of us are on our own unique path back to God. As such, Reiki helps us on a Soul Level only when we are ready, and only when we ask for its guidance and healing. Put simply: it is non-invasive and never violates our freewill.”

The amount of Reiki an individual receives depends on their needs at the time of the treatment. The energy goes to the areas where the healing energy is needed most.

Because Reiki is Universal Energy, a client need not be present with a Second Level (or higher) Reiki practitioner. Reiki can be sent through Distance Healing. During Distance Healing, the Reiki practitioner connects intuitively with the client, and performs the Reiki session. The energy is sent to the client. This may sound absurd to some, but it does work. In fact, many years ago, a client of mine requested a Distance Healing for backache. With a young child at that time, I wasn’t certain when exactly I could perform the session that day, and said I would call her when I had sent her Reiki. When I phoned, I left a message. My client had been at work, but told me later she had felt when I had sent her Reiki. This was confirmed she said, because the time of my message on her phone was the same time she had felt better.

Reiki will only work for you if you are open to it. If you don’t believe it is possible, then it won’t be for you. There are many other alternative therapies to explore, if that is the case, and you will be drawn to what is right for you.
